Great bike shop
Brought my own bike down for the month of February. My chain broke & I asked a local what shop he'd recommend, as he was an avid bicycler. Without hesitation, he said Island Bike Shop. I stopped in, gave them my bike & Chris, the repair attendant asked if I needed it today, which he would be happy to do. I said no, just call when finished. Next day bike was done, reasonable & very happy with the service. They rent bicycles too for vacationers.
We just returned from a vacation on Marco Island and one of the best things we did was rent bikes from the Island Bike Shop. The bikes were delivered FREE to the hotel where we were staying, and the cost of renting the bikes for three days was VERY reasonable. They even supplied baskets and a lock (our choice of combination). We locked them at the hotel when we weren't using them and at the end of the week, we headed for the airport and they picked their bikes up. Couldn't be more convenient. The bikes were single speed with coaster brakes. I am 6'3" and the seat post was plenty long enough to accommodate my long legs. The bikes were not fancy, but they worked well. The island is very flat, so it's not like you are climbing a lot of hills and need 21 speeds. We rode at least 10 miles a day and would agree this was about the best money we spent on our week there (by contrast, the rental car never moved from its parking spot all week!)
There is another bike rental place on the island, but they charge to deliver the bikes. They do have an option for multi-speed bikes, but again we felt the single speeds were fine given the flatness.

I SO recommend reserving a bike, as this is basically the only place to rent bikes on Marco Island. good selection, happy shop dogs!!
